What software do I need to browse your website?
RoomPlace works best using the latest Web browser software from Microsoft. Click on the links below for free downloads.

To use the RoomPlace site, your Web browser software must support JavaScript (click here to see whether your browser supports JavaScript). Optionally, support for Java and Macromedia Flash enables you to use the Furniture.com site to its fullest advantage, including fun extras like Room Planner.

How can I make your website work best with AOL?
Try this quick fix:
1. Click on My AOL on your AOL toolbar
2. Select Preferences
3. Click on WWW
4. Click on the fourth tab, “Web Graphics”
5. Deselect “Use compressed graphics”
In many cases, this will solve the problem. If you continue to experience problems, please e-mail customerservice@furniture.com.

How can I view images using AOL for the Mac?
Try this quick fix:
1. Click on Members on your AOL toolbar
2. Select Preferences
3. Click on Web
4. Under Display deselect “Use compressed graphics” and
5. Under Display deselect “Draw images once the entire page has been received”

Why isn’t Room Planner working on my machine?
Room Planner requires version 6.0 of the Macromedia Flash plug-in. Follow the link below to go to the Macromedia website, where you can download this 219K plug-in. It should take about one minute to download on a 56K modem.

What’s a cookie?
RoomPlace uses a technology called “cookies” to remember you and the information you are saving.

When you visit RoomPlace, we send you back a cookie, which is a small text file. Your Web browser has a special folder on your computer where it keeps cookies. Cookies cannot harm your computer in any way. Only the website that places a cookie on your computer is allowed to read it; no other website may access the cookie RoomPlace places on your computer.

If you are visiting RoomPlace from a computer used only by you or your family, cookies present no security concern. If you are using a shared computer in a public environment (i.e. a library, Cyber Cafe or work), you should choose not to have RoomPlace remember you automatically when you first register (note that you can update your registration anytime to change this setting).

Cookies make your shopping experience at RoomPlace easier and more enjoyable by enabling the RoomPlace site to remember the contents of your shopping cart and display your selections to you at any time. If you register with RoomPlace, cookies allow our site to remember your selections for your next visit, so you do not have to search for the items you were interested in all over again.

Internet Explorer 5 users:
From the Tools drop-down menu, click Internet Options
Select the Security tab and click Custom Level
Under Cookies, select Enable for both stored and per-session cookies

Internet Explorer 6 users:
From the Tools drop-down menu, click Internet Options
Select the Privacy tab and click Advanced
Click Override default settings
Click Always allow session cookies

Once you have set your browser to accept cookies, close it, open a new browser window and return to to continue shopping.
